Protecting your home for the Winter

Winter is here, believe it or not. Here are a few steps that you can do to prevent a water damage to your home over the coming months.  Drain the water from all of your faucets and hoses. By doing so, you prevent the water from freezing in the lines and possibly causing a pipe burst. Make sure that your lines are well insulated. Be certain to keep your thermostat at at least 55 degrees Fahrenheit. Regardless of whether you have a finished or unfinished basement, check your sump pump. If it fails, you can end up with a lot of moisture and even mold.
